This terrific book is worth having. It has nearly 100 ideas for ways you can
outfit your dungeon yourself. Some things (like the bubble wrap dildo) are a
bit strange, but the St. Andrews Cross is inspired! Now you can have all the
toys on your wish list, without spending a fortune. This is an especially valuable
book if you live in an area where you cant buy or even find ready-made.

Ménage
by Emma Holly. ©1998, Black Lace. $5.95
This publishers boasts that it writes erotic fiction "by women for women."
If you like your smut to have a plot, these books are for you! The series is
large, and growing every day. Theres something for everyone, from contemporary
stories to historical ones. This particular offering has elements of B&D,
gay sex, threesomes, and role playing in it. Its intelligently written,
and very sexy without going overboard, and the plot is readable. My copy is
already looking a bit worn.

Plants
of Love by Christian Rätsch. © 1997, 10 Speed Press. $19.95
This "history of aphrodisiacs" is both informative and beautiful.
There are many color illustrations and photos, and each so-called aphrodisiac
has scientific explanations for why it would or would not work. For instance,
guarana, an herb frequently found in commercially prepared "stimulants,"
really has strong stimulating properties. In South America, its brewed
as tea, and drunk like coffee. Its a beautiful book, whether youre
a history buff, a would-be seducer, or a gardener looking for ideas.

The
Supermarket Sorceresss Sexy Hexes by Lexa Roséan. ©1997, St.
Martins Press. $8.99
And while were on the subject of aphrodisiacs, this little gem of a book
is sure to entertain the Pagans among our readers. Ms Roséan is a fun
author to read, with amusing anecdotal evidence to back up her results. Theres
a whole chapter on honey spells (as in bees), as well as a few spells for mending
broken hearts. Whether you are an experienced witch or just curious, this book
will make you smile, and maybe even give you a few ideas

Different
Loving by G. Brame, W. Brame, and J. Jacobs. ©1993, Villard Books. (HC
edition $25.00)
I bought this book when it was in hardcover, it took a few years to be printed
as a paperback, but it is now available. If you have not read this book yet,
do so! It is a fascinating look into the world we share. There are those of
us involved in BDSM, but who are still living with shame and embarrassment.
Perhaps they just dont know where to look for like-minded people, perhaps
there arent any to find in their corner of the world. This book will take
a look inside the behavior, practices, and minds of people who are involved
in BDSM. "D&S is simply a different kind of loving,"
the authors state. Its not sick, its not perverted, or even abnormal,
just "different."

The
Sophisticated Cookie by Jeanne Benedict. ©1998, HPBooks. $14.00

Do you have a well-stocked liquor cabinet and a sweet tooth? Get this book!
All of these cookies are concocted with spirits. From Rumple Minze to rum, theres
a cookie here for you. Try the "White Russian Cookie and Cream Sandwiches,"
or "Tequila Sunrise Bars." Yum! Not only does this unusual book have
terrific recipes, but it also has tips and a simple price guide to stocking
your "cookie bar." Most of the brands selected are under $20, but
not all. But since the recipes generally
only call for a few tablespoons, the expensive bottle of brandy you bought for
"Chocolate Cherry Brandy Cordials" will last a while. This cookie
book will make your party guests exclaiming with delight, and your Master or
Mistress well, Ill leave them to their rewards.
